About
Family Hunger, PLLC is a business created after I, Todd Neel, retired from my career as a social worker with the Idaho Dept. of Health & Welfare. It was created to share my travel adventures, discoveries, genealogical searches, writing projects, and more! It is a vehicle to continue my work as a professional, and to finish my first book, Family Hunger – Breathe Life Into Your Family History. This is to document my life story, some of my family members’ life stories, share connections with distant relatives, and share insights into families from my experience and training as a social worker.
Welcome to a world of limitless possibilities, where the journey is as exhilarating as the destination, and where every moment is an opportunity to make your mark on the canvas of existence. The only limit is the extent of your imagination, and maybe your budget and aging body …

Our Story
I do have a passion for families. Some may say I’m on a search for dead fish. Genealogy is more than that. It’s also about living people who have passions and beating hearts.
This chapter suggests why I named this book for public consumption, Family Hunger – Breathe Life Into Your Family History. I had a supervisor who told me if I want to be a family therapist that I need to “eat, breathe, sleep and dream” about families. Families make up my world view, the lens through which I see the interconnectedness of all things. The “butterfly effect” tells of the ripple effect of insects in distant jungles connected to distant galaxies in the universe. We cannot help but effect others with our thoughts, words, and especially our actions.
We are responsible. We, and others, live with the consequences of our behaviors. Consciousness of this is enlightenment.
I have written a series of other books which I printed on my home computer for family consumption, books with the names of both dead and living relatives like Family Hunger – A Neel & McCool Family History, and Family Hunger – A Carson Family History.
I have a passion or hunger for genealogy and writing, and I also have respect for the living. I had a fear of my older adopted brother due to his mental health and legal issues. However, as of August 2024 he passed away, and now it is time for closure.
